Scope (1974)

Scope were a jazz/fusion act from Zwolle in The Netherlands and this is their self titled debut album from ‘74. While I’ve known about Scope for an a long while I haven’t really listened to them a lot. I dunno, tastes change and I am much more receptive and have a better base knowledge of prog rock/jazz/fusion than I was a few decades ago. Scope put out some killer jams in the jazz/fusion realm, but still footed in rock. There’s a lot of textures and the playing is hot, so definitely an experience from the listener’s perspective. Solid record and absolutely recommend if you’re into this kind of thing.

1974 German pressing on Atlantic and it’s a beauty.
