Pyromania has to be one of the most 1983 records of all time! It certainly made a massive impression on a 13 year old me. Killer early 1980s heavy metal with a commercial bent, but it’s so good that ani don’t even give a shit. Fantastic album and the very last of Def Leppard’s run that I was onboard with. I fully respect their super commercial direction, but it’s not for me. These first three hit all the marks in my book.
1983 US pressing on Mercury and it’s great. I got all three of these Def Leppard LPs from my longtime friend Troy in the early 1990s when his brother was looking to unload his old records that he didn’t listen to anymore. Got these, some Rainbow LPs, and a few others. Funny that the Def Leppard turned out to be such a killer part of the cache.
