Sometime around 2007-08, Jeff Becerra resurrected a new version of Possessed and while they first just played festivals and live shows celebrating old shit, they eventually put together Revelations Of Oblivion, released in 2019. The album is somehow very inline with what one might imagine the original Possessed to sound like in 2019 sans Larry LaLonde’s whack ass guitar playing. Otherwise, it’s some really nice technical thrash/death metal. I enjoy this album way more than i expected to when it came out. Much respect to Jeff Becerra for pulling this off. Hopefully there’ll be another round before it all goes away.
2019 first US pressing on Nuclear Blast and it’s sort of jaw-dropping. Solid release.
