Yes - Time And A Word (1970)

Upon listening to this album right now, I think I may have been a little harsh in my earlier recounting of this album. I think the band took a misstep with incorporating actual orchestral musicians vs leveraging organ and mellowtron, but other than that, there are some solid tracks on this record. The band would soon split with original guitarist Peter Banks, and Steve Howe would step in… the rest is history. Banks was  a great fucking guitarist though. He played with Flash and had an interesting solo career. His Two Sides Of Peter Banks album is absolutely worth your time.

1970 US pressing on Atlantic Records has a picture of the band with Steve Howe, who’s not even on this record. The original UK cover is way better, but it sounds great.
