Late period Cathedral is sort of a mixed bag of doom excellence, stoner jams, and progressive weirdness. While The Guessing Game exhibits the doom and the stoner metal bits, it largely falls into the progressive weirdness category and (for me) that’s perfectly fine. This isn’t one of my most played Cathedral records, but there’s a lot going on and it’s certainly one of those records that reveals just a bit more upon each listen. Odd, but sort of a nice album, in my humble opinion.
