The Sound Of Perseverance is the final studio album from death metal and progressive metal pioneers, Death. This time out Schuldiner assembled a band of virtually unknown musicians who all turned out to be phenomenal and cranked out this amazing final statement. Whether or not Schuldiner meant to continue with Death after this is a up for debate, but he he also had other ideas in mind for future ventures. However, for Death, this is an outstanding final statement. Awesome cover of Judas Priest’s “Painkiller” at the close of the album. So good!
2020 US reissue from Relapse Records and despite it being another pinwheel vinyl variant, the overall release is a beautiful thing.
