Peter Hammill - The Silent Corner And The Empty Stage (1974)

Peter Hammill is the frontman, major composer, guitarist , and pianist of Van Der Graaf Generator. He started making solo album s in 1971 as Van Der Graaf Generator went on a hiatus in ‘71 following the release of the excellent Pawn Hearts. The Silent Corner And The Empty Stage is Hammill’s third solo album and the only one I own, so far. It’s very much inline with the sound of a an Der Graaf Generator and is both wild and outstanding. Hammill’s solo discography lays ahead for me; and I am both excited and intimidated. Amazing, amazing album, this thing.

Early Canadian repress on Charisma that I picked up at The Record Centre in Ottawa, Canada late last year and I love it.
