As the full title states, Commotion is the early rough mix of Voïvod’s second album, RrröööaaarrR. While definitely rougher around the edges than the final mix, I honestly think this initial mix Mike Amstadt, (Voïvod’s live sound engineer and studio engineer for this album) brings an equally awesome listening experience as the proper album mix. This is yet another one of these special limited releases from Jean-Yves Thériault’s own label.
2023 Canadian pressing on Minemine Records. Link is a rip of the original Iran Gang cassette tape. This vinyl release has been properly mastered and sounds a bit better than the tape.
