Whitesnake - Saints & Sinners (1982)

Saints & Sinners is the last album to feature the Ready An’ Willing lineup featuring Jon Lord and Ian Paice as the bad move in a slightly hard edged, Los Angeles vibes, direction. The hair metal thing is not yet in sight,,but the groundwork for that move is in the works. Still, this album is alright! The band opted to work with a different producer names Guy Bidmead, but had second thoughts and brought in Martin Birch to ensure their vision was properly executed. It’s a solid album, though maybe just a bit less memorable that some of the band’s other efforts, but it does contain the the first studio recording of “Here I Go Again”, which would become a megahit for the band in the MTV era..

1988 US reissue on Geffen Records. This version sounds fine but has seemingly been aggressively remastered to appeal to fans of the 1987 album. Oh, the late 80s kind of sucks a little bit.
