Metal For Muthas (1980)

This is the original Metal For Muthas compilation that, with the efforts of radio DJ Neal Kay, helped to kick off the whole NWOBHM movement in England in 1980. All the tracks here are early recordings and it all feels like demos, which is kind of fucking awesome. Even the two Iron Maiden tracks are different that the album versions with this version of “Wrathchild” predating the Killers album by a year. These old heavy metal comps are the best!

1980 UK pressing on EMI. Found this and the second one at an antique mall in Salisbury, England while taking a few days off with my wife after working a gig in London. Saw Stonehenge on the same day I found this, so calling that a good day.
