Yes (1969)

This is of course the debut album from progressive rock legends, Yes. While the band would eventually record many iconic albums throughout the 1970s and beyond, this beautiful debut often gets overlooked. Original Yes guitarist Peter Banks has a fantastic angular style of playing that’s quite different from his successor, Steve Howe. Their second album , Time And A Word, isn’t quite as strong, but this debut is nothing short of fantastic.

1973 US repress on Atlantic Records. I most assuredly picked this up at a record show back in the 1990s and it’s a great player.
