While I think Endtyme is Catherdral’s finest album of the 2000’s, The VIIth Coming is a solid follow up and low-key excellent in its own right. After swinging very much into the stoner rock vibe throughout the 1990s, the band has inched back into traditional doom a little bit more with this and (especially) Endtyme, but it’s not all slow, plodding, doom. There some stoner and psychedelic vibes throughout. This one is a slow burn. Worth checking out for sure.
2015 UK reissue, first ever vinyl edition, from a label called Secret Records and it’s quite good.
