Human is the point in which Chuck Schuldiner very clearly establishes Death as a progressive metal band. Still firmly footed in death metal, but from here forward they are both progressive and technical. An all new lineup with only Schuldiner remaining from Spiritual Healing, but now joined by the insanely good Steve DiGiorgio on bass and one-half of Cynic, with Sean Reinert on drums and Paul Masvidal on guitar. An absolute landmark album in the world of metal. Deserving of all the praise it receives and more.
