Brain Salad Surgery is of course an iconic landmark in progressive rock music history, but I’ve personally struggled to connect with it over the years. The band’s self titled debut and Tarkus have always struck a chord with me. While impressive as fuck from a playing perspective, the songs on Brain Salad Surgery fall a little short for me. It’s a fun listen at times, but I play the early shit way more often. A++ cover artwork courtesy of HR Giger.
1973 US pressing (I think) on Atlantic/Manticore. My Discogs entry seems all wrong now, so need to determine which pressing this is (again).
